Frequently Asked Questions

Feel free to ask any questions - here are some of the most common questions we receive:

Is there a guarantee that I will see the Northern Lights?

Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee a Northern Lights sighting, as it depends on natural factors like solar activity and weather conditions. However, our guides use real-time aurora forecasts and years of experience to find the best locations for sightings.

Where will the tour take place, and how far do we travel?

The tour will take you to remote locations away from light pollution, offering the best viewing conditions. Depending on the forecast, we may travel 30 minutes to a few hours outside of the city. Our guides select the locations based on real-time aurora activity and weather conditions.

What should I wear on a Northern Lights tour?

It's essential to dress warmly for the tour, as you’ll be spending several hours outdoors in cold conditions. We recommend wearing thermal layers, a winter coat, insulated boots, gloves, a hat, and a scarf.

What are the best months to see the Northern Lights?

The best time to witness the Northern Lights is between September and April. During these months, the nights are long and dark, offering optimal viewing conditions. While the aurora can sometimes be seen in late August, September to mid-March tends to offer the clearest skies and strongest auroral activity.

What happens if the tour is canceled due to bad weather?

If the tour is canceled due to bad weather, we will notify you as soon as possible and offer alternative options. We always prioritize your safety and the quality of your experience.

Can I take photos of the Northern Lights, and do I need special equipment?

Yes, you can take photos of the Northern Lights! To capture the aurora, you’ll need a camera with manual settings (especially for ISO, aperture, and exposure time). A tripod is also highly recommended to stabilize your shots. Our photograpers are happy to help you with camera settings for the best results.
